Peter Kohl -Plezier in het groteske kent geen grenzen-

Het geloof in fantasie wordt gepassioneerd uitgedrukt in zijn werk; het absurde en het avontuur, dat is kunst. Daar is hij van overtuigd. Zijn universum is lichtjaren verwijderd van dat wat onder alle mogelijke clichés en conventies zou kunnen vallen. In zijn wereld zijn varkens groen, draagt Hitler een roze onderbroek en is Mickey Mouse een rat. Aantrekkelijk of afstotelijk, schoonheid of angst - waar is het verschil? De toeschouwers vervallen bij het zien van deze wezens niet in angsten maar een glimlach verschijnt op hun gezichten. Het spel van kleuren, vormen en korte poëtische teksten zijn ervaringen die ons in het midden van onze ziel raken. Peter is niet alleen kunstschilder; hij is ook dichter en filosoof. Zijn kritische blik op onze wereld en de politiek wordt op een speciale, maar nooit dogmatische wijze, weergegeven.

Peter Kohl -Fun in the grotesque has no limits-

It is fantasy, expressed with passion, that you will find in his work. He is convinced that art consists of the absurd and adventure. His universe is miles away from all clichés and conventions. In his world, pigs are green, Hitler wears pink underpants and Mickey Mouse is a rat. Attractive or repulsive, beauty or fear - where is the difference? The spectators do not fall into fear at the sight of these beings, but a smile appears on their faces. The play of colors, shapes and short poetic texts are experiences that touch us in the middle of our soul. Peter is not only a painter; he is also a poet and philosopher. His critical view of our world and politics is depicted in a special, but never in a dogmatic, way. 
We are proud to present this successful Austrian artist with an incredible curriculum. He exhibited amongst others in Berlin, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Barcelona, Vienna, Ljubljana, Amsterdam, Verona and now at Gallery Phase in Tongeren.
